PG Hardwood Flooring is pleased to announce the introduction of three new colours. Based on feedback from several professionals and a survey of our network, we can affirm that the trend is currently towards shades of grey and greige. So, without further ado we are very proud to present our new additions this year! These three shades reminiscent of the colour of lava, plumes of smoke rising from volcanoes and shades of a savannah are sure to add even greater depth to our Model®product range. Krafla is a volcano located on the mid-Atlantic ridge that cuts across Iceland north to south.
Bromo is a volcano in Indonesia that is part of the Tengger massif. Every year, the region’s inhabitants hold the Kesada Ceremony which consists of making offerings to the caldera, considered a divinity. Volcanoes are constructive forces. They create new land, fertilize existing land and carry many new minerals to the planet’s surface.
A savannah is a rolling grassland ecosystem scattered with shrubs and trees greater than 80 cm in height. Although globally arid, the savannah is characterized by tremendous biodiversity. These new colours are offered in Pacific grade maple, birch and red oak in all the widths and finishes of the Model Classic Collection.
This year, the trend is towards grey colours, large boards and a rustic appearance. Following are our new products.
Grey, a sure bet
Once again this year, grey is very popular in interior design. So, two new shades of grey have joined our product line: Roccia, a medium grey offered in the preoiled Model Classic Collection and Urbania, a mouse grey available in the prefinished Unique Collection.
New grade and new width: Heritage 5¼ inches
We also created a new, more naturally rustic grade with wider boards in attractive lengths. Heritage grade boards are 5¼ inches wide and available in the following species: birch, red oak, maple, silver maple and ash.

In recent months, PG Hardwood Flooring surveyed a number of industry professionals to gain insight into the latest floor covering trends. This year, the trend is towards lighter shades, a rustic appearance, matt finishes and so on. So this is what we propose for 2013.
Introduction of preoiled UV environmentally friendly products
This year, PG added preoiled UV products to its Unique Collection as well as its Model Classic Collection. Products are finished with natural renewable oil, an environmentally friendly choice. This process allows the wood to breathe and is popular because it is simple to maintain and repair. Oiled flooring also enhances the grain of the wood, conferring a matt, rustic appearance. Habano and its rich cocoa brown overtones are sure to please those seeking a rich decor, while Marula with its greige accents adapts easily to any interior. For the more daring, PG and a professional painter worked together to create a Mediterranean-inspired product contrasting electric blue and carbon grey tones: Hope. This floor is sure to be the centre of attention in any home.
New in the Origin Series and E Series
Given the resounding success of the Origin Series, PG developed a new stain with greige accents known as Pelletier. The new Arizona colour added to the E Series features sandy grey and carbon tones.
New colours for the Model Classic Collection
Once again, this year, grey is the mainstay of interior design and we are pleased to offer customers Minio in shades of mouse-grey. Owing to the trend in lighter shades this year, PG developed a new colour, Sandbanks, sure to leave no one indifferent. Create your own ambience with Minio and Sandbanks available for all our grades, species, widths and finishes. The choice is yours!

After months of effort, our partner and main supplier, Scierie Dion & Fils inc., has obtained certification based on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) forest management standards for almost all wood harvested from Crown land managed by the Dion brothers. This area, covering some 2900 km2 (or six times the size of Montréal Island), now joins the 400 km2 of private land held by Scierie Dion & fils, also certified FSC. This volume will help meet growing consumer demand for certified products.
PG Hardwood Flooring has held FSC certification for its chain of custody since March 2005, and this approach is deeply anchored in the company’s mission of respecting the environment and maximizing the use of raw material. FSC certification creates a credible connection between responsible production and the consumption of forest products, allowing consumers and businesses to make decisions that benefit both people and the environment.
With FSC certification, Scierie Dion & Fils rises above the competition and is sure to have a positive impact on the environment and sustainable development. We salute their commitment to promoting the health and future of forests.
